Saison DuPont |
| |
|
|
|
A Saison brewed by Dupont Brasserie Tourpes-Leuze, Belgium Saison Dupont is a
classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that
has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it
may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly
natural. 6.5% ABV. |

Girardin Gueuze Black Label |
| |
|
A Lambic - Gueuze brewed by Brouwerij Girardin Sint
Ulriks-Kapelle, Belgium Unfiltered.
OK... no clue, how 'bout... Ushered through the massive
barn, the oak from the horse stalls and the leather from the
saddles linger in the air, but I am pulled further...
directed down a spiral stone staircase into the cellar, I
push aside a large cobweb and step onto the soft earthen
floor; aromas unimagined consume my existence. Clean and
totally organized this cellar is unlike any I have come
across: all of the cobwebs and dust are in perfect order,
with a complexity never before seen. I hope I find St. Peter
in a barn like this... or not. 5% ABV. |

Rodenbach Grand Cru |
| |
|
A Sour Ale brewed by Brouwerij Rodenbach (Palm) Roeselare, Belgium A fully
fermented beer with a full flavor - not surprisingly strong, but with a gentle
but sharp bouquet. Sour, with a hint of berries, a lot like the Rodenbach
Classic. However, this beer is darker, when held up to the light, it gives off a
peachy red. The flavor is magnificent, much more sour than the Classic. A sip
will make you pucker up with joy as the strong, yet gentle sour flavor takes you
by storm. This beer has notes of cherry and more of a juicy peach or apricot
flavor to it, without as much of the earthy berry flavor of the Classic. I would
also describe it as much more refreshing. 5% ABV. |

Het Anker Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Keizer |
| |
|
A Belgian Strong Ale brewed by Brouwerij Het Anker Mechelen,
Belgium Every year on the 24th of February, the birthday
of "Charles the fifth", the Brewery brews the Gouden Carolus
"Cuvee of the Emperor" in a limited quantity and with an eye
on the highest quality and tradition. This unique brewing,
with only extra fine Belgian hops and with a higher alcohol
level, guarantees a better evolution in the time, than the
already known Gouden Carolus. This beer, as all our beers,
is 100 % natural, with no preservatives, no adjuncts and no
chemicals. We bottle it in bottles of 75 cl and closed with
a quality cork. Excellent to store several years. Every year
the public is invited to assist to the brewing process.
11% ABV. |

|
A Belgian Strong Ale brewed by Brouwerij De Regenboog Assebroek-Brugge, Belgium
Spice aromas clear the nose along with yeast. Caramel body with foamy head, lot
of floaters and some mud sediment found on bottom of glass. Spice and yeasty
bread notes along with some medium coriander and some sourness. Spice has a
burning affect on palate and left a dryness also. Does have an alcohol warming
affect on body with some numbing in the face from alcohol. Whew!!!! 11%
ABV. |

Nice Chouffe |
| |
| A

| Stille
Nacht |
| |
|
DeDolle Brewery, Diksmuide, Belgium Stille Nacht (Silent Night) is a prestige
beer from De Dolle Brouwers brewed for Christmas. It has the highest density of
any Belgian beer (27ºPl), has been boiling for 5 hours, brewed with pale malt
with white candi sugar in the kettle. The Nugget hops and dry hopping gives an
extra bitterness to balance the extreme sweetness due to the density. The taste
triangle is completed with some acidity of the fermentation. It is a very
interesting beer to age. We have samples of every bottling we have done so far
and aging does not mean decreasing quality with this beer. Keep some samples at
10ºC and mark the year on the cap with an alcohol marker. 12% ABV
Classification: Belgian Strong Ale. |

Struise Mikkeller IPA (Elliots Brew) |
| |
|
An Imperial/Double IPA brewed byStruise Woesten-Vleteren,
Belgium Behold the second of RateBeer.com's Worldwide
Masters Series! This request edition ale is the crafted
alchemy of a party of some of Europe's finest brewers,
Mikkel Bjergsø and Kristian Keller of Mikkeller (Copenhagen,
Denmark) and Urbain Coutteau, Carlo Grootaert, Phil
Driessens, and Peter Braem of De Struise Brouwers (Woesten-Vleteren,
Belgium).
Both breweries have attracted considerable international
attention for their artful interpretations of traditional
ale styles enlived by a rich sense of invention. And both
are also very highly esteemed by the RateBeer.com
international community of beer tasters. We hope you enjoy
this unique little treasure. Struise-Mikkeller is as we said
in the past "Best of two worlds". We delivered an IPA with
130 IBU, but a bitterness hidden the Struise way, counter
balanced by maltyness, alcohol and rest sugars. People who
do not like Ipa's will actually be amazed, the general hop
bomb addict will not understand, so yes this is a
controversial brew... enjoy anyway! 9% ABV. |

|
